Be Merciful

DAY 2 OF 5

Forgive.

“Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.” Matthew‬ ‭18:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Forgive your brother. Forgive your sister. Forgive those who have come up against you. Forgive your enemies. Forgive those who have set themselves against you. Forgive those who have spoken against you. Clear your heart. Clear your mind. Clear your thoughts. Forgive those who have intentionally set themselves to sabotage your destiny. Jesus Christ forgave those who were crucifying Him. Though your enemies may come to crucify your flesh — choose to surrender to Christ and forgive those who have come up against you.

Matthew‬ ‭18:21-22‬ ‭AMPC‬‬ declares, “Then Peter came up to Him and said, Lord, how many times may my brother sin against me and I forgive him and let it go? [As many as] up to seven times? Jesus answered him, I tell you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seven!” Let it go. Whatever “it” is — let it go. Choose to let the past go. Choose to let the pain of the past go. Choose to forgive and move forward. Choose to surrender to Christ. Let your Heart reflect the merciful and compassionate Heart of God.

Forgiveness is a choice. Forgiveness is intentional. It’s important to forgive those who have offended you. Offense corrupts the character and soil of your heart. It’s your choice — you can choose to stay in a place of bondage or you can choose to forgive and free your heart from the chains of the past.
