The Ultimate Balm for Your Weary Heart

DAY 5 OF 5

Out of Hiding

My darling, I reach around now, my arms on your shoulders, my chin on your head. I sit here with you, my beloved one. I kneel beside you, wondering if you will take that deep breath now. Yes, that one. Take that deep breath, my love. It is not good to hold everything in.

And now stay. This is you. Claim who you are, my love. Let me help you recognize how I’ve made you. Can you say yes to that again, my love? Can you awake this day and see the sun shining forth? Can you ask me to come and bring newness to your heart?

You have seen where I’ve been with you. You’ve heard my whispers. Want to ask for even more of me? Want to let me in even more? I wait and stay, filling all the spaces where you let me in. Do you know that place in your heart, in your past that is not yet fully surrendered to me? Let me press here some more, child.

You know where it is, this place where I want to heal you still, more fully—and fill you, even more, with me. I know this place in you. I love you. I hope no part of you wants no part of me.

Let’s make this a new season, a season of beginning again, a season of growing again, a season of letting me in again. Let’s make this a season where all the old is thrown out. You are beautiful, my darling, and that beauty is more than external.

It is the beauty of your heart that I’ve claimed, that I’ve rescued, that I say is yours to use to speak, to teach, to love. For there are daughters in a different season that need you to say yes to this season—this season of rebirth and newness I’ve given to you. You are shown the freedom that comes with vulnerability, trusting me with your story. You are invited out of hiding, the surrender of pride. There are women who need to hear your story, who will see me in you and be encouraged to step forward, also, into hope and light and freedom. Might that be worship? Might that be being with me? Trust the friends I bring, these sisters. You are safe with me.

I love seasons, the changing, and the turning. In change, there is newness and rebirth.

I am good.

Come and see.

Exercise & Prayer

Ask God to show you what, in your past, you struggle to let go of—a moment or a memory of something you did that made you feel separate from Him. Now imagine Jesus standing before you in this season, saying, “Arise, my love, my beautiful one. Give your burdens to me. Let me make you new.” Consider this verse from Song of Solomon: “For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree ripens its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away” (2:11–13). Picture yourself here, in this scene, with Jesus. How are you responding? What do you do or say in response to his invitation to trust him with your story? Stay here for a few minutes; stay present with Jesus in the scene.

Father, I want to be with you. I want to believe you are with me. I lay down all of my regret about the past. I lay down who I was and who I am. I want to see myself as you see me. Help me to trust that you are safe, that you bring a community around me that is safe. Free me from fear of confession. Let me stand before you, unashamed and clean, living in the gratitude of your sacrifice, Jesus. In this place of vulnerability, before you, safe in the community that you bring, I live whole. I confess my whole heart to you. I ask for your forgiveness. I am white as snow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We hope this Plan encouraged you! Read the complete conversations with God—and engage more deeply with His heart.
