DIY for the Soul

DAY 17 OF 34

As we reflect on this question, “Am I satisfied in God?” let us find peace in knowing that we do not always remember that God is the one who consistently satisfies us. Yes, certain pastimes excite us from time to time, but they each come with an expiration date. The good news is that God loves us and has placed the right people in our lives to encourage us to find our satisfaction in Him and to enjoy the benefits of doing so.

King David, in Psalm 37:4-6, plainly tells us to “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.”

God uses King David to 1) instruct us 2) teach us why we should commit and 3) what to expect as a result of taking joy in living with God.

In our time of reflection, what do these verses tell us about mankind? What do they tell us about God? Where is your satisfaction?
