Thirty Days of Thanksgiving and Worship Намуна
What We Do...
Honestly. How we live matters.
May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation--
the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ--
for this will bring much glory and praise to God.
Philippians 1:11
No, this isn’t legalism or trying by our efforts to earn God’s favor, but we do need to be thoughtful about what we say and do. Really. The world is watching. Watching to see if Jesus is the real deal like we know He is.
We are recognizing that thanksgiving, praise, and worship are a lifestyle. It is thanks-living, as we learned from Ann Voskamp a few days ago. Paul, several times in his letters to the early churches, encouraged believers to walk worthy of God’s calling upon their lives. Glorifying Him isn’t only when we are with our church family and the worship team, or in our quiet times; it is all the time.
Spirit-inspired worship is what we have been learning, but how much more will Spirit-inspired living bring Him glory? A lot. A lot more (John 6:63). So, we might need a paradigm shift in how we do life. How about some Holy Spirit alterations? Asking Him to go deep within our hearts and free us from some old ways and habits that hinder our testimony for the Gospel. Remember the old anecdote, Lord, so far, I haven’t blown-it – but I am getting out of bed now, and I need Your help!
Yes, we need His help. We can’t fix ourselves, but Jesus can do the job plenty well. The verse above states: our righteous character will be the work of Jesus Himself.
Do whatever it takes to get free in Him:
- Seek out what your church has to offer regarding freedom classes or sessions.
- Meet with your pastor or discipleship mentor.
- Consider seeing a licensed Christian counselor.
- Make an appointment with your primary care physician.
- Be accountable to those you trust to walk you through and out of whatever strongholds or hindrances that limit His life overflowing through you.
Above all, keep falling more ardently in love with Him. Ultimately, we will look more and more like the One we cherish and adore and worship.
