DAY 2 OF 3

THE POWER IN OUR WORDS

Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name (Hebrews 13:15).

Our mouth has power, so every word that comes out of our mouths has power too. In Proverbs 18:21, it is said that life and death are controlled by our tongues. Meaning, our words contain either life or death. We can bring life through our words and we can bring death through a word.

What does it mean? Through our words, we can give encouragement, motivation, strength, and comfort to the lives of others, but we can also destroy, disappoint, and kill other people's lives with our words. Each of us must realize that every word that comes out of our mouth, contains power. In Hebrews 13:15, it says that our words (the word used in the Bible refers to "lips" ) are also our sacrificial offerings to God.

Today, we learned that our words contain not only power, but the words through our mouths are also our sacrificial offerings to God. What is the sacrifice offering that God wants us to offer through words today? The answer, as we read in Hebrews 13:15, we find that God's will is "to give thanksgiving offering". God wants every word that comes out of our mouths to glorify His Name. Let there be good and constructive words and thanksgiving that always comes out through our mouth today. Amen

Our mouths can build and destroy our lives
