Leadership Through Love

DAY 5 OF 6

Hope is one of the most sought after things in life. Hope is what makes life worth living. In a world where depression and anxiety is more prevalent than it's ever been, God desires us to experience hope in Him.

In Romans 15:13, Paul makes a connection between experiencing hope, peace, and joy with trusting in Him. The truth is, life has very few positive guarantees, and it's fairly easy to get entrenched in the negative realities of life. Before we can lead others to experience hope, we first must find our hope in eternal things that God provides.

Romans 8:24-25 focuses on hope for what we have to look forward to after this life. This life is temporary, and as a Christ-follower we have heaven to look forward to on a daily basis. When the cares of this life attempt to steal our joy and peace, we must return our focus to what we have to look forward to. However, it requires us to have patience in that which we hope for, which as we've learned is a day by day process.

In leadership, it is our responsibility to point people towards hope, both in the natural and the supernatural. Most days offer several opportunities we can frame through the lens of hope or the lens of negativity. To be an effective leader, we need to choose hope. As a Christ-follower, we should always be looking for opportunities to point people to hope in Christ. Ask yourself today where you find your hope.
