The Process Looks Different Than the Progress
As we have seen, Paul was imprisoned and the churches wanted to see him free. They were waiting for a divine miracle, that he would be set free in a supernatural way so that they could thank God and so nothing could stop the advancement of the Gospel. But we know that wasn't the process God had for Paul.
If God doesn't change the situation, He will use the situation to change you.
My father had been hospitalized for two years and he didn't receive healing in this life. But I cannot express how much that situation impacted my faith at that time.
The fact that Paul was in prison didn't just help the advancement of the Gospel but seeing him full of joy, even in the trials and seeing how God used him while he was in chains gave Christians even more encouragement and a bold faith. They were not seeing the progress they wanted to see but they understood the process that God had with Paul. It might be that God's process in your life looks different than what you want to see.
The Gospel does not produce just an experience but a transformation. If we can understand that maybe the process of God in our lives is different than the one we want to see, we can embrace the idea that throughout our entire process, it all counts.
