Shiny Influencers Show Respect
Okay, it’s your last day of this Bible Plan. You’ve learned what an influencer really is. You’ve learned that you have influence. You’ve learned that you need to shine God’s light for all to see so that others can praise Him, too. You’ve learned that being respectful to authority is the foundation for being a shiny influencer.
But maybe some of that “respect for authority” isn’t sitting quite right with you. Maybe you’re thinking, um, I don’t like being told what to do. I want to make my own choices. I have a really hard time listening to authority figures and following what they say.
Have a listen to Quizman in this video. Maybe he’ll help you make sense of why it’s still better to respect those in authority over you than to decide to go rogue and buck the system.
You heard that last part, right? The more you participate in God’s good guidance for your life, the more your world opens up. You’ll be seen as a light. Someone to respect. Someone who can handle authority! You’ll be a shining example like Jesus asked you to be.
Let it sink into your heart and mind forever that you, yes you, are the light of the world when you trust and follow Jesus. He wants you to light up a dark and hurting world by bringing truth to everyone around you.
Live a life so bright that when others look at you, they can’t help but praise and thank God for you.
Ask yourself: What’s the most important thing I learned from doing this Bible Plan?
Challenge yourself: See how many words of Matthew 5:14-16 you can recite. If you can’t say the whole thing, just say however many words you can. Tomorrow, try to add just five more words. Keep adding just five words per day until you’ve got it memorized! Hey, the Bible Plan may be over—but that doesn’t mean you should forget about this awesome Scripture! Plus, you can always go back to the first day to listen to the verse song as much as you want.
Pray: God, thank You for using me to be Your light. I don’t want my friends to live in darkness. I want to shine Your light everywhere I go. Thank You for teaching me that I have influence. Help me to use it to bring people close to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
