UNCOMMEN: FreedomНамуна
An Hour Unplugged
Soon we will look back at 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic will undoubtedly have a multitude of memories. On the surface, people have been relating their time at home as a bit like solitary confinement.
Solitary Confinement: Solitary confinement is a form of imprisonment distinguished by living in single cells with little or no meaningful contact with other people, strict control, and security.
While in a physical sense, we see in Genesis 2:18 that even God said it's not good for us to be alone. But in a Spiritual sense, we see in 2 Corinthians that we never really are alone.
With people being confined to their homes during the pandemic, we see the drastic need for interaction and attention. Some of this is because we miss being with our family and friends; we cannot go to work or go about our daily routines. But some of our uneasiness looks to stem from another reason.
It looks as if much of the world is uncomfortable being alone with God. When we are sitting alone, and that still small voice begins to speak to us, do we listen? Or do we grab our phone again to see what has changed in the last 2 minutes on social media?
Our focus verse tells us, "where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."
If so, then revel in the extra time you can spend with Him and enjoy that your relationship with God is always there. Put your trust in Him. While you and I may be going through a rough patch in our lives, we are not going through it alone.
Uncommen Questions
Do you have a personal relationship with God?
On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your ability to be alone with God?
Has this time revealed some changes that need to take place in your life?
Uncommen Challenge
I challenge all of us to spend an hour unplugged and focus on what God is trying to communicate to us. Spend the first 15 minutes reading God's word and the next 45 minutes taking notes and considering what you’ve just read. It may be the most revealing, sobering, and assuring hour you've ever had.

About this Plan
Join us as we look into the topic of Freedom and how we apply it to our time, what we read, how we speak, even how we trust. We are free to do many things in today's culture. But do we take advantage of those freedoms and do we consider how they Glorify God?
