DAY 17 OF 28

If you have ever been in a really tough situation, you know how powerful the right words at the right time can be. The Bible isn’t just a book telling us what to do and what not to do. It is also a record of real people and their encounters with a real God. Taking the time to read their experiences can encourage you and help you.

The places in Scripture where God speaks words of comfort can be a help, but so can the experiences of people who felt the same sorts of things you have: loneliness, fear, anxiety, uncertainty. Scripture includes these experiences of people to encourage us that we aren’t alone. God can handle your emotions and you may find something in His Word to encourage you today.

Today, write down on a piece of paper a few words describing how you feel and then pray to God, sharing why you feel that way.

About this Plan

Complicated. Long. Conflicting. Outdated. Contradictory. When it comes to the Bible, you’ve probably thought all that and more. People act like it’s so life-changing, but for us it seems like anything but helpful. Is it possible we’re missing something? In this 28-day devotional, we’re talking about how the Bible works, what’s in there, and why we trust it ... really. In other words, we’re talking about the Bible EXPLAINED.
