Moving Beyond With What You HaveНамуна
DAY THREE: You Have Enough
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been tempted in the past to say no to opportunities because I didn’t think I had enough—enough capacity, enough brain space, enough strength—to deliver a worthy contribution. I’m much better at it now, but there have been many times when I’ve opted to sit out instead of offering what I had because I forgot that I’m not the only one doing this. When God is with me, I always have enough.
In Judges 6, when God tells Gideon to go in the strength he has, Gideon replies and basically tells God he doesn’t think the strength he has is enough. What’s so incredible is how God responds by telling him, “I will be with you.” Gideon does have enough strength because God is with him. The same is true for me and for you. With God, even a little bit is enough. This is what Jesus means when He says, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” If you have even a tiny seed of faith, that is enough.
When God promises to be with us, He doesn’t just mean He’ll walk alongside us as a companion. He means He will supply us with His power. Second Peter 1:3 reminds us that it’s His divine power that has given us everything we need for a godly life. It may not look or feel like it, but we can trust that as long as we are leaning in to who He is, His glory and His goodness, we will have everything we need and it will be enough.
Ask a trusted friend what areas they have noticed you shying away from and consider the things you feel like you don’t have enough of. Ask God to reveal His strength through you the next time an opportunity arises that you’re hesitant to say yes to.
