Success – A Biblical PerspectiveНамуна
Ephesians 2:10 Hebrews 12:1
You Are His Creation
In any discussion, it is helpful to start from a place of common understanding. In this discussion of success, we will propose that as Christ-followers we need to define what success is as God defines it and to look to His Word to guide and help us. Also, we need to realize that God’s definition may be very different from the world’s definition.
According to the scripture, we are reading today we are not products of biology or chance we are products of destiny. God is the giver of life. Every believer is here for a reason. God makes no junk and every life has an eternal purpose. Whether we fulfill that purpose successfully or not will depend largely on choices we make during our lives here on earth.
Of course, the first step in becoming successful in God’s plan for our lives is to become a Christian. We then step onto a race track of life on earth to run the race that has been set before us. (Hebrews 12:1,2) Notice that it is set before us not necessarily a race that we might choose for ourselves. And then we run...... and we run..... and then.....we finish! Our race of life ends with our physical death and we put off the mortal body and put on our immortal body. In between, we do lots of stuff. Does it make any difference what that stuff is?
The purpose of this series is to help us answer that question. How can our understanding of the scripture influence the choices we make as we run?
