Love God Greatly: Empowered

DAY 11 OF 40

Simon was a well-known man in Samaria. He was a magician and many people followed him and paid attention to what he did and what he said. Simon had great influence in the city because of the magic he performed. ⁣

When Philip proclaimed the name of Jesus in Samaria, many people believed. Even Simon believed, and because he was a prominent figure in the city, his influence caused more people to come to faith in Christ. The people of Samaria were accustomed to seeing miraculous signs because of Simon’s magic, but those miraculous signs were nothing compared to the miracles Philip and the other followers of Christ performed in the city. ⁣

The truth of the gospel is greater than anything we have encountered in our lives. It transforms lives, hearts, cities, and nations. It can turn even a famous magician into a devoted follower of Christ. The gospel is powerful. It was powerful enough to transform Simon’s life, and it is powerful enough to transform your life and circumstance. ⁣

Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. I believe Your gospel is true and has transformative power. I believe You can transform lives, including mine. I trust You with my circumstances today. You alone can change lives and hearts. In Your name, amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly: Empowered

Empowered: Yesterday and Today is a deep study of the book of Acts. As we study the early church and the spread of the gospel we hope to find encouragement and strength to continue spreading the message of the gospel in our spheres of influence. God empowered the early church to share the gospel every single day, and He does the same for us, even now.
