The Purpose of Pentecost

DAY 13 OF 14

The Guarantee of the Holy Spirit

As we near the end of this devotional and have unpacked so many of the amazing things that come with knowing and being filled with the Holy Spirit, it’s important for us to note one thing: all of this is just a taste of what’s to come!

Paul writes here in his second letter to the Corinthians that the Holy Spirit is like a deposit, a down payment, that guarantees what’s ahead. I’m no economics expert, but I know that usually a deposit is just a portion of the full thing. If there’s anyone who is lacking assurance of what eternity will look and feel like, I encourage you to lean into the Holy Spirit, and I believe you’ll start to get a glimpse of God’s eternal plan.

Let’s embrace everything we have access to in the Holy Spirit today and also get excited and expectant about the endless wonder of what’s to come.

Do you have any uncertainty about eternity?

Prayer: Father, thank You for the assurance You give me, through the Holy Spirit, of my eternal home with You. I pray I will never lose sight of the incredible gift You’ve given me to help me live out my journey on earth. Amen.

About this Plan

The Purpose of Pentecost

The heart of this devotional is to help unpack a greater understanding of the truth and purpose of the Holy Spirit for us as believers—to help bring clarity to what can sometimes be a foggy part of our faith and hopefully stir you to rely on the Holy Spirit more in your everyday life.
