Calling - Finding Fulfillment In Your WorkНамуна
God is drawing all people to himself—you included (see John 12:32). As you learn to recognize His call, your ambitions will become clearer.
Reflect for a moment on what it means to have “the mind of Christ” (1 Cor. 2:16). One of the things it means is that Christians have been given a mind-set that agrees with God’s nature. It also means that Christians have dreams and ambitions that give glory to the One who created dreams and ambitions in the first place.
You may feel a gentle tug as you read this: a reminder of an idea, dream, or ambition the Lord planted in you. Perhaps it’s been growing for quite some time. It will grow faster as you embrace situational awareness and participate in the pruning and planting God is doing in your work life.
Take courage: God does not plant dead things. If you’re being pruned or planted, it’s evidence that He sees great potential in you. His desire is that what He has planted in you will grow to fruition.
Now, fruition may not mean that all your dreams come true. God never promised that. For any of us, fruition means forward motion. It means seeing the things that God planted begin to bear fruit in our lives.
Godly ambitions will cause you to trust him. Who else could plant such a vision in you and also cause it to become a reality?
As you cooperate with the Spirit’s pruning and planting, you will begin to see abundance within your work. Not the world’s definition of abundance, maybe, but God’s definition. The Lord’s abundance looks like more of Him—which means more life, the fruit of which is more freedom, more meaningful relationships, and more goodness. The fruit of the Spirit represents the characteristics of our Creator.
This is the richness of His love. The abundance of His joy. Working with Him creates an overflow in your heart that will propel you through the day.
What a joy it is to know Him! To work with Him and to love Him. He is both what drives us and what we are driven toward. All glory belongs to him!
Father, create a new perspective in me that welcomes your companionship. Even when I am busy with my responsibilities, help me to be truly aware of the Holy Spirit and of what you are doing within me, today and always.
