All In

DAY 16 OF 31

Day by day...

Honestly, slowing down and taking things one day at a time does not come easily for me. I love big goals, big dreams, and big-picture ideas. Sometimes the daily steps to get there are what I forget about.

What I love is how Acts 2 shows us that the daily steps the apostles took led them to achieve the big dream of sharing the Good News. The fact that Christianity is the largest and most widely spread religion is not an accident.

The Holy Spirit moved through a select few who were all in to make sure people knew about Jesus. It was a day by day spiritual devotion that pushed them onward. It was the fire of the Holy Spirit burning inside them that kept prompting them, giving them the Spirit-filled stamina and grit to persevere.

In Acts 2:46, we see the things that the apostles were doing day by day to show their devotion. They were unifying their hearts, unifying their time, unifying their resources, and they did this with gladness and sincerity of heart.

The last part of that verse is so important; don’t miss it! “With gladness and sincerity of heart” does not mean checking boxes. It means more than going through the motions of spiritual disciplines.

It means there was rejoicing!

They were continually praising God as they grew each day. We should consider our daily devotions as an act of praise and worship. As the apostles devoted themselves day by day, the Lord was adding to their numbers day by day. It’s no coincidence that the same words are repeated when we see the fruit from their labor. Let’s go all in and see what awaits us on the other side of saying “yes” to the Spirit day by day.

About this Plan

All In

"All In" comes from Acts 2:42-47, where the Holy Spirit fell on Jesus's disciples and transformed the hearts and lives of everyone present on the Day of Pentecost. Over the next month, these devotions and verses by Faith Promise pastors and staff will lay out God’s plan to mobilize us to bring about the next great move of God.
