Only Jesus - True King
Jesus was the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. His Kingship was evidenced when he entered Jerusalem on a colt to symbolize the fact that He was the promised Messiah. His authority was not given by man but by God himself and His kingdom was not of this world. When Jesus walked the earth He taught, healed and delivered people with the power and authority of God himself. When people met Jesus they acknowledged the power and authority that Jesus had and believed in him. This led to breakthroughs in their lives. As followers of Jesus, we have the same power and authority as Jesus. Unfortunately, we don’t exercise them like we should. This power and authority are not brash and demeaning of others but it is understanding our position in Christ. It’s knowing that we are co-heirs with Christ. It’s believing that we can do what Jesus did and more if we abide in Him. We can never partake of this power and authority if we don’t submit completely to the Lordship of Christ in our life. Our stance must be one of humility and total surrender to Him.
Jesus is King of a Kingdom like no other. It’s a Kingdom founded in the hearts of those who love Christ and who dedicate their lives in His service. This Kingdom is unseen but very real, it’s small to begin with but grows by the minute, it’s supernatural in its expansion and it is all inclusive in nature. It’s an upside down-right side up kind of kingdom which causes its citizens to live powerful and impactful lives while on earth. When we live our lives on Kingdom terms it changes our perspective and then proceeds to change our lives. We no longer live for ourselves but for God and for people. We don’t hoard up things for ourselves but are ready to give it away to those in need. We become the salt and light to the world we live in where our good deeds and our Christ likeness make us indispensable and visible to all around. We see people for who they are rather than where they come from or what they have. We see the gold in everyone and everything for our perceptions have changed by Jesus, our King. We live for Him and we are ready to follow Him wherever He takes us and do whatever He asks of us.
Prayer: Dear God, I ask that you help me submit to your Lordship. I surrender my need to understand everything and to control everything, May you take charge of my life and guide me with your steady hand. I pray that in my life your Kingdom will come, and your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. In Jesus name. Amen
