This Is Why

DAY 5 OF 7

WHY SHOULD I READ MY BIBLE?

If you say you haven't thought this at one point in your life, you're probably lying. Honestly, what is the point of reading the Bible? Does it give us some type of superhuman abilities?

Well I think we would all be hard-pressed to say that at some point during our walk with Christ, or in life in general, we didn't have some type of struggle or conflict. Truthfully, many of us would say there have been times where we didn't know if we could even keep going. When we follow Jesus, these times may come more often than not towards the beginning, because following Jesus is hard. It was never supposed to be easy, but worth it. So what do we do when we feel like our back's against the wall and we've got nothing left in the tank? That's where God's Word comes in.

When we have questions, when we don't know what His will is, when we're not sure we're even going in the right direction, God's Word brings us back.

It's called a light on our path, God's very spoken Word used for correction and teaching, living and active written for our instruction: Jesus even goes as far as to say that we don't live on merely bread and water alone, but on His Word. Maybe you've asked yourself what the point of reading God's Word is and never given it a shot - there's also a good chance that you're having a hard time making it day to day. By starting a plan like this, you're making reading His Word a priority - just watch what comfort, peace, security, and strength comes as you continue to be fed not by culture, but by the Living Word of our Great God.

This is why we read our Bible.

About this Plan

This Is Why

Why do we show up early on Sundays? Why do we wake up early to pray for church every day of the week? Why do we smile, give high-fives, & stay focused to serve others at church? Why do we give our hard earned money? Why do we invite people to join us? This 7-day plan walks through the 'why' behind the 'what' of serving & being a part of a local church.
