DAY 26 OF 40

The Holy Spirit | Do I Need Another Baptism?

The word baptism is most commonly associated with water baptism. The Bible explains, however, that there are actually three separate kinds of baptisms. The first baptism takes place when one accepts Jesus as the Lord of their life and the Holy Spirit immerses them into the Body of Christ. This is the baptism of salvation, and it always comes first. The second kind of baptism takes place when a disciple of the Lord baptizes a new believer in water. The third baptism takes place when Jesus baptizes us in the Holy Spirit.

When you get saved, you become a new person. When you get water baptized, your old nature is washed away. But many believers are still discouraged because they only have two of the baptisms they need to live victoriously. However, when you get baptized in the Holy Spirit, He empowers you to walk in victory on this earth. This is a promise from God to you!

There are several times throughout the Old Testament the Holy Spirit descended on people, but He never remained on them. Jesus is the first person the Holy Spirit ever descended on and then remained. He was the first person to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. In Acts 2, Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would do the same with us, thereby enabling us to walk in a new life. The Holy Spirit wants to descend on you and remain there! God wants you to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Even if you haven’t been baptized in water yet, you can still be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Do you need another baptism? Do you want to be immersed in the Holy Spirit? You don’t have to wait! Receive Him today.

Memory Verse
