Love God Greatly: RisenНамуна
The resurrection of the dead is not limited to those who have placed their faith in Christ. All who have died will be resurrected. We all have eternal souls, and we will all receive eternal bodies. However, there is a distinct difference between the eternity of the righteous and the unrighteous.
The righteous will receive a heavenly body and spend eternity with God. The unrighteous will spend eternity separated from God, facing judgment (Matthew 25:46).
The death of Christ changes us from unrighteous to righteous. When we place our faith in Christ His righteousness becomes our righteousness, and we are made right with God (2 Corinthians 5:21). We do not have to worry about facing judgment because our eternity is secure in Christ. As He was resurrected, we too will experience resurrection and be united with Him for eternity.
Lord Jesus, thank You for taking my place on the cross. Thank You for bearing the weight of my sin so that I may be declared righteous. Thank You for making me right with God so that I may spend eternity with You. Amen.
