Alive: Lent DevotionalsНамуна
Alive: Will things get better?
I remember visiting a forest as part of my university’s ecology course some 20 years ago. I knew then I wanted to be part of the movements working tirelessly to ensure that this natural beauty did not disappear.
Many times, in this journey, it seems that more has been lost than preserved. It is easy to grow weary when it appears as if you are alone in the battle. When those that you think should be at the forefront of this fight seem not to care…close relatives, friends, or even the church.
We should be strengthened in the knowledge that we serve a God who is a “farmer” and always true to His word. The good that we are sowing will indeed reap a good harvest in His time. Thus, we should never give up, even when we are the only ones in our neighborhood taking initiatives to replant trees, recycle, and live sustainably.
Prayer:
Dear Lord,
We pray that You will give us supernatural strength to continue to do good and care for Your creation and one another. We also thank You for the harvest that will come from this work… in our time and in that of the generations to come. Amen.

About this Plan
These Lent devotionals will take you on a journey to discover the abundant life that Jesus offers. The world is full of noise and distraction – bright lights that lead us away from the depth of life, keeping us in the shallows. The kingdom of heaven – the kingdom of life and love and joy – is closer than we think. Let us grasp it with both hands.
