Resting In Grace

DAY 18 OF 20

When life hits hard, I long increasingly for heaven, where there will be no more tears—over tragedies, frustration, or rejection. Can you imagine?

Death won’t exist. From cancer or Alzheimer’s or MS. Mourning will be a thing of the past.

All crying—over disappointment or betrayal—will cease.

There will be no more pain in heaven, emotional, physical, or otherwise. Everyone there will love God. Every touch will be right and pure.

In heaven, the old order of things will pass away. Pride won’t cause discrimination. Power won’t corrupt. Greed and shame won’t exist. Every beautiful thing we lost when Adam and Eve, the first humans, sinned will be restored.

Heaven is the anti-thesis of all that is awful and painful here on earth; the complete opposite of everything that wounds and scars. It’s relief. Blissful, permanent relief.

When life throws unexpected struggles at you, remember heaven with all its promise. You can make it through this, with God’s help and strength, because on the other side, all the things that currently make life so difficult will be gone.

Our relationship with Christ now is merely a taste of the divine intimacy we’ll experience, once we encounter God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit in heaven. Because finally, finally all barriers between us will be removed. We’ll see Jesus. We’ll be able to look into His eyes and find … heaven.

Don’t give up when life kicks the breath out of you.

Because for you and me, heaven is just around the corner!

How often do you pause and contemplate life in heaven? How might doing so more often help you find increased joy and peace?

About this Plan

Resting In Grace

Christ's grace has the power to change everything. We don't have to strive, to compete or compare, or question whether or not we measure up. We're enough because Christ in us in enough. The cross of Christ sets us free.
