DAY 35 OF 43

THE HEART OF THE RIGHTEOUS

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. (Psalm 111:10 NIV)

Psalm 109 and 110 told us about David’s situation in the “lowest point of his life”, when David was so depressed and waited for God to defend him.

David might be disappointed and bitter with his life’s condition, however, God was always there to convince him that He would defend him.

Right now we might experience the same things that happened to David. We feel that we are at the “lowest point” of our lives. However, let us learn from David today. David did not distance himself from the Lord or blame Him. David came closer to the Lord.

We could read from Psalm 111-113 how David’s attitude changed drastically. His heart was filled with love and thanksgiving to the Lord. His words were filled with blessings and praises. David could do this because he lived in the fear of the Lord and obeyed Him. This made David to be a very blessed man.

Blessed are those who fear the Lord. When we fear Him, we will receive wisdom, spiritual prosperity and riches, blessed offspring, and safety.

Let us have the heart of the righteous, just like David, who still gave thanks to the Lord, worshipped and trusted in the Lord with all of his heart, even though he was at the lowest point of his life.

-The longings of the wicked will come to nothing-
