Day 2: Count On Him
One of the greatest things about being a believer is that we always have someone we can count on. No matter what our needs are or what we may be going through, we can always count on God to be there for us. Psalms 62:8 tells us to, “Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Selah”. We must understand that God is our refuge, or in other words, our safe house. He keeps us from harm and gets us through the deepest darkest hours of life. Counting on God’s Love is the only way to cast out any fears that may be holding us back from pursuing the greatness He has put inside of us. God is the only One that will not abandon us when we need Him most. I can remember times where life was so overwhelming, I felt like giving up. I was trying everything in my power to fight my battles using my own strength, but I couldn’t. I realized that I needed to put my trust in God and allow Him to fight for me. One of the things you should never do is what I did, and that is, attempt to fight a spiritual battle with carnal weapons. When I began to count on God, that’s when the battle shifted from me losing to me winning. As the scripture mentioned above, we must always trust in Him, and that’s what I did.
If there is ever a time where you are watching everyone around you win and it seems as though you aren’t, take a step back and count on Him to turn your situation around. If you feel like every time you take a couple steps forward you keep being pushed back, count on Him to turn the setbacks into setups, for you to succeed. If there are times when you pray but still feel down in the pits, and you feel like God is not listening in, know that He is listening. Know that His time is different from ours. Count on God to know that He knows what you should have. See, sometimes the things we strongly desire are the things that will destroy us in the future. Count on God to know what’s best for you. In the darkest days of your life, seek breakthrough, and know that chains fall when we lean, trust, and count on God.
