The Five Solas

DAY 2 OF 5

Christ Alone

Our salvation is through Christ alone. We are declared righteous by the perfect work of Jesus on the cross. There is no other name given by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). In our pluralistic society, we should affirm our foundational doctrinal belief that salvation is by Christ alone. When we understand that God is holy beyond our imagination and we face the reality of our sin and brokenness, we immediately realise the condemnation and penalty we face for our sin. Who will pay for our sin? What can atone our evil deeds? How will we be made righteous before God? It is by Christ alone.

Jesus Christ is the mediator between God and man. He is the ultimate Prophet, Priest and King.

Christ is the ultimate Prophet who instructs us in the ways of God and heals our blindness and ignorance. Christ is the ultimate Priest who does not offer sacrifices through animals but through His own blood He redeemed us. He is also the great High Priest who intercedes for us in the heavenly courts. Christ is the ultimate King who rules over all things and one day will usher the kingdom in its fullness where we will live under His dominion and reign.

Do you see who Jesus really is? Do you affirm the doctrine of Christ alone? Do you submit to the words of the ultimate Prophet Jesus? Do you rely on the sacrifice of the ultimate Priest Jesus on your behalf? Do you joyfully obey the rule and reign of the ultimate King?
