Ruth: God at Work in Our Lives

DAY 8 OF 8

Prayer Answered

In Ruth 1:20, Naomi cries out of her tragedy and longs for her bitterness to go away. In 1:8, Naomi prays that Ruth will experience God’s kindness and Boaz prays in 2:12 that she will experience reward for seeking refuge under God’s wings. In 2:4, the workers bless Boaz that he will experience the Shalom of God.

God hears our prayers. Not a tear from our eyes falls to the ground without God noticing. God fulfills His purposes for Naomi, Ruth and Boaz by answering their prayers and longings of their hearts.

Naomi’s bitterness was turned into joy with the birth of Ruth’s son. Ruth found kindness from God and refuge through Boaz. And finally Boaz experienced God’s shalom through his marriage with Ruth.

Nothing can stop God’s purposes. God will accomplish His purposes by overcoming all obstacles. Throughout the book, we see so many obstacles that could have derailed the lives of Naomi and Ruth. But God’s hand was guiding them even through the most insignificant details of life.

God is guiding your life. You may not see it or sense it. He may appear to be silent in your life. But God is always working for you. God has shown that He is accomplishing His ultimate purpose of saving and redeeming us by overcoming all obstacles. He who began a good work in you will complete it.

Even in the midst of your unanswered prayers and unfulfilled hopes and dreams, will you look to Jesus, the One who died for you so that you can be part of God’s grand redemption?
