Unexplainable Jesus: 10 Days To Rediscovering The God You Thought You KnewНамуна
When someone tells me something incredulous about another person, besides considering the validity of the source, I often take it lightly. However, when I hear the same thing twice from credible sources, I tend to believe there might be some truth to the tale.
In Jewish thought, court cases needed the presence of at least two witnesses in order to be valid. How fitting that we are told of not one, but two righteous persons asserting that the baby Jesus is the Messiah who was to come.
Anna told “all who were waiting” with her (see Luke 2:38). She spilled the beans in her prayer circle. What would it be like to recognize Jesus so readily? It would be one thing to recognize Jesus’ authority when you watched Him cast out demons or calm a storm, but here was a baby lying in His mother’s arms and Anna recognized Him as the expected one! How did the Holy Spirit reveal it to her?
I think I often go through life missing Jesus. Unless He is doing something big, I fail to recognize Him. I’m in too much of a hurry to notice the whisper of the Holy Spirit in my heart prompting me to approach the stranger right in front of me. It’s easy to see Jesus in the extraordinary, but in my everyday worship fulfilling my everyday duty, my gaze can move right past Him. And it’s often in the simple that Jesus does the spectacular.
Describe a time when you witnessed Jesus at work in simple, everyday life.
Describe a time when you know Jesus worked through you while you were going about your regular day.
