DAY 2 OF 8

Prayer: Father, you have given me the promise of life beyond the grave, and a purpose for life before the grave. Open my eyes to see the needs in the world around me. I want to serve as your witness in this time and place that you’ve given me. Help me find my strength in you, and give me a faith that comforts the community that you have formed around me.

Incredible Impact

How would you describe yourself in three words? Which three words would your closest friends or family members choose for you? Text them right now & see whether or not your descriptions match up!

When Paul thought of the church in Rome, the defining word was “faith.” He saw their faith in their obedience to share the gospel, and in their reputation “proclaimed throughout the whole world.” With that kind of faith, it is no wonder that he was desperate to visit them in order to provide encouragement and experience comfort!

The greatest impact we can make in this world is found in how we influence the lives of people around us. We have a limited opportunity to participate in God’s work of eternal salvation, so how intentional are we in living according to that calling? Are we focused on building a reputation for ourselves or for our Lord?

Questions to Ask Yourself:

  1. Who can you gather with in order to be “mutually comforted by one another’s faith”? How could you encourage them this week with a simple word or action?
  2. What three words do you think God would use to describe you? Where can you turn in scripture to reinforce those words if they are accurate, or refute them from scripture if they are lies from our enemy?

What’s Next?

  1. Write down the names of 1-3 people who you can encourage in their spiritual walks this week.
  2. Take the time to write out a few personal thoughts and one Biblical passage that you can share with them in person or in a message this week.

About this Plan

Unashamed

The book of Romans provides incredible instruction and encouragement for followers of Jesus Christ. Over the course of 8 days, we will examine Romans 1-4 to better understand how the Gospel of Christ empowers us to live on mission without shame.
