Read – Romans 5

Romans 5:3-4 "And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character and proven character produces hope." 

There are many times that I think it is very difficult for a Christian in America to really get and comprehend what Christianity really is. This verse points to exactly why I think this. In America, we all have anything we want. There is no persecution, there is freedom. It is very difficult for us to know the meaning of this verse, because how many times have we really had afflictions? If we don't ever walk down that path, how can we ever understand what it means to have endurance? Or proven character? Or true hope? Ask God to reveal to you the true meaning of these Godly characteristics in your life today. You may just be surprised as to how He reveals them to you and the strength He can provide.

Roman 5:17 "Since by the one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the overflow of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ." 

Oh how sweet is the grace of our Lord. All have received a sin nature because of the sin of Adam, and all are allowed to receive the gift of grace and eternal life through one man, Jesus. Blessed are the poor in spirit!
