Walking With Him Daily Romans Bible PlanНамуна
Day 14
Read – Romans 14
Romans 14: 19 - 21 "So then, we must pursue what promotes peace and what builds up one another. Do not tear down God's work because of food. Everything is clean, but it is wrong for a man to cause stumbling by what he eats. It is a noble thing not to eat meat, or drink wine, or do anything that makes your brother stumble."
I am convinced that God works on different people at different times and in different ways, according to His perfect will to work with your spiritual maturity. He may convict me of something and never convict of you that, i.e. drinking alcohol. However, what this passage says is that if you know that someone has been convicted of something, know that they are called to stay true to that and you should hold true to it yourself when you are around them. For instance, with alcohol, I believe that God has called me not to drink, and He has convicted me of this (likely because of what it represented in my life). It is something that I have said will not be in my household. However, others that God has not convicted of this should be wary of this. Meaning that if they know this and it has potential to be a stumbling block for me, they should not bring this into my house or do this around me, even though they believe it is fine to do. Doing so could cause a number of issues, but what Paul is saying is that we need to be sensitive to what others have been convicted of. Not saying that what is wrong for one is wrong for another. Pray today that you will be sensitive to what God has convicted you of and what God has convicted those around your of so that you can show love to them by helping remove that stumbling block from in front of them.
