How Should I Pray?Намуна
Day #1: Our Example
The Word clearly teaches us how to pray. Jesus prayed often. Our personal prayer life is critically important to building our relationship with God. Prayer is communicating my heart to my heavenly Father. For me, intimacy with God is the pinnacle of rich and successful living. The more communication… the more communion. The more communion…the more confidence. The more confidence…the more trust. The more trust…the more rest. I choose to live a life of quiet assurance and confident trust. It starts with prayer and a vibrant relationship with my Savior.
Jesus’ entire life was lived in close communication with His Father. He often “went to the mountain to pray”. This teaches us to get away from the other voices and noises in our lives. He prayed anywhere and everywhere. He prayed in the Temple, in the Garden, in the wilderness, and on the Cross. His example teaches us to not only pray with others but more importantly to pray alone.
Take time right now to stop and pray. Ask God to help you develop a consistent life of prayer. I am convinced that your prayers matter. Prayers are powerful and effective when prayed for from a heart seeking the Lord’s best. He says that if we ask not, we get not. Ask in accordance with His greater will for your life. Then trust.

About this Plan
How are we to pray to an almighty and all knowing God? Jesus taught His disciples how to pray when they asked Him the same question. There is much we can learn from His example and teaching.
