Guard Your WordsНамуна
Guard Your Words.
“In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.” Proverbs 10:19 KJV
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Hebrew word for “Refrain” is, ‘chasak’ (H2820) which means, “To withhold, keep back, keep for oneself, keep from, hold in check, spare, or reserve.” Before you speak, choose to check and examine your words. Let the Word of God filter your heart. In moments of chaos and confusion, choose to refrain from speaking recklessly. Choose to guard and watch your words carefully. Choose to use wisdom when speaking.
Proverbs 10:19 AMPC declares, “In a multitude of words transgression is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is prudent.” Be deliberate and restrain your words. Be prudent and season your words with grace. Ask God for wisdom before you speak. Pray and choose to use discretion before speaking. Speak as God leads.
More plainly put, Proverbs 10:19 NLT states, “Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.” You don’t have to stay silent in all seasons, but there is a time to speak and a time to refrain from speaking. Choose to let God’s wisdom flow from your heart and lips.
