Living With Purpose

DAY 7 OF 7

God Can Give Purpose to Anyone

Esther was an orphan who became a queen, but she had to make a hard choice. She had to choose between playing it safe or saving her people. God helped Esther to do the right thing and find her purpose.

Many years later, a baby was born to a single girl named Mary, who had to choose to believe God would keep her safe. Her little baby was about to change the whole world for the better. That baby was Jesus, and He came to save the entire world so that we can all choose to be friends with God.

Jesus shows us how to live. During His life on earth, He chose to help strangers and friends. Jesus treated people of all tribes and nations the same. He never did the wrong things, and His choice to die for our sin makes it possible for us to be forgiven of our wrong choices. Jesus came back to life and told His followers to tell the whole world about Him and the choice we now have to live forever with God in heaven.

One of Jesus’ faithful followers was Peter who was a fisherman. Peter also had to make a choice to have faith in Jesus when He called him to fish where he thought there were no fish. Peter was then able to see Jesus in a new light and begin to believe that He is the Son of God. Only He can bring life to a situation that looks dire or awful. When we choose to have faith in Jesus, life comes to our hearts and that brings life to the situation around us.

You now have a choice to make also. Would you like to become more like Jesus? That is God’s purpose for anyone who believes! Talk to Him.

Dear God,

Thank you for sending Jesus to save us from our sins. Please forgive me of doing wrong things. I know that you have a purpose for everyone’s life. Please guide me to my purpose. Please make me like Jesus. Amen.
