Now & LaterНамуна
Has there ever been a time you were so exhausted that you felt like you had nothing left to give or you felt like simply giving up? Maybe it wasn’t just physical exhaustion, but mental, emotional, and spiritual exhaustion, too.
The writer of this verse probably felt that way when he wrote it. Exhausted, he reminds himself that God is his strength and his “portion” forever. A portion of food is the amount of food it takes to satisfy you nutritionally. Similarly, if God is our portion forever, it means that He is enough to satisfy our needs—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual—forever. Do you believe that God will always provide enough for you to get through the day?
Is there an area of your life—a class at school, a relationship with a family member, your racing mind—leaving you feeling exhausted right now? Today, ask God to give you strength and energy in that area.
