Love God Greatly - Psalm 119

DAY 53 OF 54

Although as believers we have God’s guidance and His unfailing presence with us, we may still stumble and go astray. We will never be perfectly obedient. We won’t follow every single word of the Bible to perfection. But, the Lord stretches out to us. He comes to us. He bends down to us. He meets us right where we are. He doesn’t wait until we are mature in faith, nor does He wait until we are Bible scholars to speak to us. God’s Living Word speaks to anything and everything that concerns us in this lifetime. We don’t have to know the entire Bible in order to follow it. God is content when we seek to begin with obedience to the small things that we do know. Do you find yourself discouraged with your inability to perfectly follow God? Do you trust that God loves you completely even when you fail Him? Father God, I thank You for my intimate and very personal relationship with You. I thank You for nurturing me when I failed, strengthening me when I was weak, teaching me when I was learning, protecting me when I was reckless, rescuing me when I was lost, and loving me no matter what. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly - Psalm 119

Woven throughout this longest chapter of the Bible are beautiful character qualities of Scripture, reminding us that God’s Word is sufficient, truthful, pure, authoritative, and unchanging. But when we look to God himself – we see how his character is reflected in this chapter as well. This Bible study gives us a glimpse into the beauty, importance, and usefulness of Scripture, prompting us to walk away more in love with God and his Word, more aware of our sin, and more in awe of our great Savior and his sacrifice on our behalf.
