Beauty On Purpose

DAY 2 OF 6

Judges Chapter 4 is probably my favorite chapter of the Bible. It shows the strength, beauty, wisdom and courage of a woman. Deborah is brave. Deborah is calm. Deborah is confident in her God to the point that she makes anyone who doubts her and her God look like a fool.

Deborah literally told Barak “Yeah, I’ll go with you, but the honor will not be yours…for the Lord will deliver the hands of Sisera into the hands of a woman.” Basically she saying, ‘Y’all don’t know what you’re doing. God found someone better suited for the job…take a seat’.

As women, we often give authority over our lives to others and no, I’m not talking about submission to Godly authority. I’m talking about those times when we hear from God and don’t act, speak up or walk it out. I know for a fact there are times in my life when I’m waiting on permission to act instead of just going with God. Enough! No more of that. I’m choosing to be brave today. There are battles that are to be won at the hands of a woman…

Inward or outward, we’ll take a look at what the Bible considers to be beautiful: a woman whose heart is focused on pleasing God and whose mission it is to see the promises of God fulfilled in the lives of all whom she encounters.
