Everyone. Everywhere. Part 2Намуна
Three in One
The Trinity is a very confusing concept. How can God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit all be distinct persons and one nature? Although this is something we will never be able to fully comprehend, one thing is very clear: God reveals Himself in Scripture as one God in three persons. From the beginning of Genesis we can see all persons of the Trinity in creation. At the baptism of Jesus we see all persons of the Trinity playing a role. The Father called Jesus His Son in whom He was well pleased as the Spirit descended upon Jesus. Jesus claimed to be God, and as He went back to His rightful place in heaven, He gave us the Holy Spirit.
Sometimes, as Christians, we can forget that we worship one God—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is something that should never be forgotten because it sets Christianity apart from all religions. God lacked nothing. Before time He existed in perfect community, harmony, and love within the Trinity. Out of love He created us in His image so that His glory would be spread throughout the earth.
Question to Ask Yourself:
- Which member of the Godhead do you tend to focus on the least?
What’s Next:
- How can you specifically love and acknowledge each member of the Trinity this week?
