Be WiseНамуна
Will you pay the price for wisdom?
For God, wisdom is supreme. He says that you must get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Cherish it, and it will exalt you; embrace it, and it will honor you.
So we could say this: “I want to be as wise as Solomon.” Maybe we will not achieve it, but we can ask the Lord for wisdom as Solomon did. Wisdom for every day, for the things we cannot handle. However, you need to know that wisdom will cost you although it will bless you too.
When Proverbs says, "get wisdom," the author is using a word that means a business transaction; like when you pay for something you want. Wisdom will cost you because when you make a wise decision, you may pay the price for that, but the price paid for wisdom is always a trade up. The cost for sin is always a trade down; you will be losing "money" when you choose to sin.
When you make a wise decision, it may cost you friends, it may cost you entertainment, it may cost you time. When you get married, to walk in wisdom will cost you. In parenting, to be wise will mean that you are not going to do everything you want; you will not be able to do all the things you used to do when you did not have children because you will need time to be with them. So, wisdom has a cost, and when you pay that price, you will find it is a trade up not a trade down.
If you want to live honoring the Lord, seek wisdom. Remember the Bible says that if any man is without wisdom, he should make his request to God, who gives freely to all, and it will be given to him.
Finally, let me tell you that the wisest thing you could do is to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior, because that decision will help you with all the other decisions you need to make in your life. He is the wisdom we all need.

About this Plan
If you found Aladdin’s magic lamp, what would you ask the genie? Fortune, fame, solutions to your problems? There was a man to whom God said: “Say what I am to give you.” However, he asked for just one thing: wisdom. In addition, he wrote a book, Proverbs, to teach us the importance of wisdom. Let us learn from him and his experience the importance of wisdom.
