Change Your Thoughts, Change Your World By Bobby Schuller

DAY 2 OF 5

Whatever present circumstance you might dislike or find uncomfortable, there is a way forward—a way out. Change your thinking and you will change your life. Changing your thinking just a little will alter the course of your life dramatically.

The apostle Paul said, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Rom. 12:2). Paul talked a great deal in his letters to the church about changing one’s thinking and putting on “the mind of Christ” (1 Cor. 2:16). At the heart of it, if we desire a godly life, we must have a godly mind.

The word here for “transformed” is the Greek word metamorphosis. Metamorphosis is a complete and total transformation, where the essence of the thing itself is different. It’s what happens when a tadpole becomes a frog, when a caterpillar becomes a butterfly, and when a sinner becomes a saint. It is change at its most radical and extreme. This is transformation that can happen in your life by “renewing your mind.” It can happen! If you change your thoughts, you will change your existence.

The thoughts that lead to death are those that conform to the pattern of this world. Those aren’t from God. We all need the kinds of thoughts that come from heaven. If we think the way everyone else thinks, we’ll get the results everyone else is getting. For an extraordinary life, we need to dwell on extraordinary thoughts.
