Love God Greatly - 1 & 2 PeterНамуна

Peter writes this letter of encouragement and hope to all of the Jewish Christians who are in exile because of the increasing persecution of the followers of Jesus Christ. Many were starting to lose hope and wondered whether the persecution they were facing was worth the unseen blessing facing them. Peter’s answer in this letter is a resounding yes.
We read in this passage that because of God’s great love for us and because of Jesus’ resurrection, we have a new hope, a brand new life, and a future inheritance in heaven. Peter writes that these are tangible things we can hope for and look forward to. The day is coming when we will experience in person everything that we have been longing for here on earth. When believers arrive in heaven our lives will be full and whole without sin, without fear, without pain, without sickness or sadness. The future God has promised is real!
Do you believe this? What are you placing your hope in? Are you placing your hope in your family, your friends, a relationship, your career, financial security, or your own efforts? What attacks of your mind and heart threaten to keep you from believing in God’s promise of eternal life in heaven?
