Spiritual IdentityНамуна
We have an enemy who will try to steal or counterfeit our spiritual identity.
Just like against the online predators who steal our financial information in order to commit identity theft, we, as believers, must be on guard against spiritual identity theft by our enemy the devil. Jesus similarly warned that the devil is a thief who comes only to steal and kill and destroy"
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10).
The devil often works by counterfeiting our identity in Christ, replacing it with alternative identities rooted in financial standing (the amount of money we have in our accounts), outward appearance (the clothes we have), or employment (a prestigious job).
As believers, we must arm ourselves against these lies with the truth that in Christ, we are new creatures who no longer live for ourselves, but for Him who died and rose again for us (2 Corinthians 5:15).
Has the devil duped you into exchanging your “spiritual identity” for a counterfeit, alternate identity? Take a moment to do an honest accounting before God of the “old things” that you might be pursuing which distort your identity in Christ as a new creature. Are you, like Paul, learning to no longer live for ourselves but for Him who died and rose again for us?

About this Plan
In this three-day plan, Tony Evans teaches that just as identity theft can happen with someone’s credit card, it can also happen to them in the spiritual realm. The devil and the world are constantly trying to rip off the covering of love and grace that God freely gives us.
