Difference Makers Devotional PlanНамуна
Who is the first person that comes to mind when you read or hear the word leader? Maybe your mind goes to the President of the United States or a member of the Royal Family. Or maybe a professional athlete or coach. Perhaps a local firefighter, police officer, or medical professional. You think of someone you work for, a family member or a good friend.
Why do you think they are leaders?
Why do you think most people think of others as leaders but not themselves?
The truth is that leadership is for every follower of Jesus! We see in Matthew 5:13-16 that every person who is a follower of Jesus is called to influence others. Everyone. Leadership not just for those with expertise, power and position.
J. Oswald Sanders gave a simple definition of leadership in his book Spiritual Leadership. He summed it up like this, “Leadership is influence”. CEOs and stay-at-home parents alike are leaders. Remember, if you are a follower of Jesus, you are called to influence others. That’s why it’s so important to accept your calling as a leader- a Difference Maker. You can make a difference in the lives of others regardless of your age, gender, marital status, or profession.
Simply put, a Difference Maker is a follower of Jesus who is using their gifts, passions and story to make a difference where God has given them influence.
