Amos: Seek The Lord and LiveНамуна
The book of Amos is a call to seek the Lord wholeheartedly. It’s a call to trust in Him, not your own resources, nor your religious habits. It’s a trust that is seen in a concern for justice and righteousness.
What changes would you like to make in your life?
Has your view of the Lord shifted a little?
He is the Almighty Lion who roars (1:2); He is the Creator of all that exists in this world (4:13); He is the One who ruins the strongest city in a flash (5:8); He is the One who touches the earth and it melts (9:5); and He is the One who will sieve and shake everyone who has ever lived (9:9).
Has your thankfulness for Jesus grown?
He is the One who was crushed for us; who gave His strength for us; who was stripped naked for us (2:13–15). He is the One who faced God’s judgment on the Day of the Lord – a day when there was darkness at midday not light. He endured darkness when He only deserved light (5:18–20). He is the One who cries out and begs for us to be shown mercy, constantly interceding for us on the basis of His perfect life and that He’s risen from an atoning death (7:1–6). He was the One who endured exile so that we can be planted in the New Creation forever (9:4, 15).
What will change in the way you ‘seek the LORD’?
Have you been challenged about the place where you find security? Have you been made to think about why you go to church and how you honour the Lord there? What will it mean for you to let justice roll on like a river and righteousness be like a never failing stream?

About this Plan
Amos was a prophet on a mission to shake Israel out of their moral complacency. He prophesied during a time of great stability and prosperity when Israel had abandoned God and neglected the vulnerable in society. His no-holds-barred message is a warning and a plea to God’s people, urging them to turn back to the Lord. Matt Fuller will help you to apply the teaching of Amos to your own life.
