Think of all things that God has called you to do. It can get overwhelming and it can feel impossible. What Jesus is telling us here in John 15 is that if we want to bear fruit in our various callings, then we need to be closely connected to Him. We can do nothing on our own. He is the vine that give us life, focus and strength. To abide in Jesus we need to rest under the cross and in his word. We need to obey and repent. These things will cause us to not only bear fruit, but “much fruit”.
