WOW, GOD. YOU MAKE EVERY MOMENT OF MY LIFE COUNT.
Experience
As I continue to think about being God’s accomplishment and what I want out of my life, I think about all the things I’m already doing, and change in the routine feels overwhelming. Another project isn’t really what I’m after. A lot of people say “purging” or downscaling helps. Looking at the calendar, I’m not sure December is the right month to try that. What about the choices I make? The everyday things I say and do?
Habits. I have some habits. Exercise a few times a week-that habit should stay. Other habits…Well, there are definitely some things I need to leave behind. It’s not as easy as just stopping, is it? Habits are connected to my mind and my body. It seems most of the habits start with my mind - just a simple, small choice. That means I need to pay attention to the small moments. Daily actions. My small choices today make a difference in my life tomorrow. And I want my life tomorrow to make a difference. I want my life to count. So how are even my “little” decisions moving me toward a life that counts?
Wow, God. You make every moment of my life count.
Respond
In Ephesians 5:16, it’s written that “these are evil times, so make every minute count.” Look at your day today. You have 1,440 minutes in this day (and 30,240 until Christmas!). As you go out, how can you make the moments count? What about your habits? What habits do you need to improve? What should you leave behind? What can you do today that will be a positive change in your daily life? Each minute of your life is part of God’s gift to you. How will you use them?
Pray
Dear God, today, give me wisdom and direction to make my moments count. Keep me from temptations that will keep me from the life You have for me to live. Amen.
