Chasing Away AnxietyНамуна
Hello, and welcome to this third session in this guided meditation series called, "Chasing Away Anxiety".
This session is called "The Gym of the Heart".
Now if you can, find a quiet place and settle in.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath or two.
My hope in this meditation is that you would identify thoughts and mindsets that rob you of the gifts of peace and power that God wants you to receive.
Whether you work out or not, you know that the way to build muscle is through resistance. No one goes to the gym to sit on a chair or lay on the floor. Though in the early days you may end up there, it's not the goal.
When working our physical bodies, we understand the value of resistance. It's time we find value in the resistance, the resistance to building our joy, our love, hope and faith.
The value is hiding in what we see God doing through the situation.
Let's ask Jesus a question: Jesus, what current struggle in my life do you want to focus on right now?
God, what are you doing in me through this struggle?
Lord am I comparing myself to someone else?
Lord, am I trying to be more than someone else?
Lord, am I in a contest that I can never win?
Let's keep asking questions:
Jesus, am I afraid of failing or never measuring up?
Lord, do I care too much of what others think and not enough of what you think?
God, what is the test I need to pass in this struggle?
Jesus, will you help me pass this test?
I'd like to pray with you before we end this time if you don't mind.
Thank you, Jesus, that You are for us. And as we humble ourselves, trust You and follow You in this challenge, we receive the grace that You pour out on us. I thank You ahead of time for the strength that will come and to those places that are so important to us. Thank You that You care about our dreams, our desires and hopes. You are the best partner in this life we could ever hope for. Amen.
God bless you as you work out at the gym of the heart today.
