Facing Discouragement And DepressionНамуна
Why are you cast down? 🤗
“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance. O my God, my soul is cast down within me; therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan, and from the heights of Hermon, from the Hill Mizar.” (see Psalm 42:5-6)
This passage raises an important question for me and for each one of us…“why are you cast down?” Take a moment with me to think about it and answer this question.
It’s good to listen to yourself think. I do so regularly. Separate yourself from your own reasoning and ask yourself, why am I thinking this way? Is it really the right way to be thinking?
The Bible tells us, “For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.” (Hebrews 12:3)
Don’t let discouragement settle down inside of you. Jesus bore everything, including discouragement, so that we could stand victorious in the face of this temptation called getting discouraged and giving up. When life discourages or seems to defeat you, God says to you, “take courage”!
In case no one else ever says it to you, I will...courage! Advance, persevere, finish the race in His strength!
