SAYING 27: RISE AGAIN
Resiliency is one of the hallmarks of wisdom. Living a wise life is not based on skill or talent or any particular ability; part of wisdom is simply about sticking it out. A wise person knows that when he or she faces trials or hardship, they are not forever. It will pass!
Only a fool gives up as soon as trouble appears. Solomon calls them ‘wicked;’ this seems a bit harsh, but in truth, it’s a serious matter. Have you ever had a friend that bailed on you as soon as things got hard? It does feel kind of wicked, doesn’t it? Faithfulness is a virtue and a testament to wisdom. Surround yourself with people willing to stick it out when things get difficult and work to become a person who can weather any trial with patience and grace.

ACTION
Make it your goal to keep your word. Don’t bail on hanging out with a friend because a better opportunity came along or because you don’t feel the same way you did when you made the plans. Be someone people can count on!
PRAYER
God, help me rest in the peace that You will be with me through the hardest seasons and that I will emerge stronger and wiser on the other side.
