Jesus, I Want to Love You Part 8Намуна
Take a moment to read today's Bible verses.
JUDGING, GOLDEN RULE
It’s so easy for us to see the faults in others. Their faults seem so “right there.” But think for a moment how much you desire for others to be understanding of your shortcomings and weaknesses. Ask the Lord to help you likewise be more understanding with others because the measure you use with them will be the measure used with you.
In what situations do you find yourself judging others? Who do you judge, perhaps a bit too often and a bit unfairly? What do you do or how do you feel in those situations?
We can't give something that we haven't fully accepted ourselves. Grace can be very difficult to give because we don't fully understand it. We think it is something rather than Someone. Grace is none other than our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. When we remember that He loved us and died for us, we are able to give grace rather than judging others with the gavel of the Law.
Are there people who have hurt you either directly or indirectly? Please don’t be afraid to openly share these things with the Lord. What we try to handle ourselves only remains in our heart, regardless of how much we hide it or say that it really isn't that big of a deal. It radically impacts our walk with the Lord. The things you carry will wear you out. Lift this person or these people up in prayer to the Lord.
According to Colossians 3:8-17, how does Paul instruct us to relate to each other? Now think about the Golden Rule. What do others do for you that demonstrates the love and kindness of Christ? What would you like others to do for you? So then, what should you do for them?
We must also remember that we might be doing the very thing we see others doing. Using Psalm 139:23-24, pray now and ask the Lord to reveal any self-centeredness to you.
Confess any judgmental or self-focused ways the Lord revealed to you today. Ask Him for His grace and mercy to see others as He does and to grant you sensitivity and genuine love for others.
