Just Jesus: Answers For LifeНамуна
Peace
To understand peace, you must understand its Hebrew root, “shalom.” It literally means complete, perfect and full. This kind of peace is more than an absence of all agitation and discord. When the Jews greeted one another with “Shalom,” they were actually declaring over each other completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest and harmony. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. God gave perfect peace to us through the blood of His precious Son. Jesus is your completion that fills you with this peace.
Memory Verse
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.
Declaration Prayer
I don't worry about anything; instead, I pray about everything. I let God know what I need, and thank him for all he has done. I experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard my heart and mind as I live in Christ Jesus. Rather than fretting or worrying, I pray. My petitions and praises shape my worries into prayers, as I let God know my concerns. Before I know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle me down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of my life. I fill my mind and mediate on things that are true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. I put into practice what I learn from God’s servants, what I hear, see and realize. In doing this, I love how God works me into his most excellent harmonies. My blessed Savior was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed. For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. I will seek peace and pursue it. My peace brings joy!
